Merel Birnie is Huisarts bij Huisartsenpraktijk Weespersluis.
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. Some may already recognize me, as my name is Rochella, and I was born and raised in Weesp.
After completing my training as a physician’s assistant in 2008, I began working in Almere. However, in 2015, I made the decision to join this wonderful practice.
The reason for my transition was my preference for working in a smaller practice with a more personal touch.
The profession of physician’s assistant is incredibly diverse. “No day is the same,” and that’s exactly what makes it enjoyable!
In addition to my work, I am a proud mother of two daughters, and I try to spend as much time with them as possible.
My name is Gerrie, and I joined the practice as a doctor’s assistant in October 2008. It was an exciting experience, as I had only my nursing diploma at the time. However, with the valuable experience gained over the years and as a mother of two grown-up sons, I adapted well.
In 2015, I completed my training as a doctor’s assistant and subsequently took various additional courses to stay up to date with the ever-evolving healthcare landscape.
The beauty of my job lies in the personal connections I make and the diversity of the work. No two days are the same.
Roxane Swager is poh GGZ bij Huisartsenpraktijk Weespersluis.
Mijn naam is Stephanie Philips.
My name is Eva Bolt, and I have been working as a GP at Dr. Franke’s practice since October 2018. However, back in 2009, I had the privilege to observe Dr. Schuurman’s and Dr. Franke’s practice as a medical intern.
I graduated as a doctor from the AMC in 2010. Before starting my GP training in 2012, I gained experience in various hospital departments, including Neurology, Internal Medicine, and Cardiology. During my GP training at the AMC, I pursued a PhD program at the VUmc. In 2017, I successfully defended my PhD thesis on end-of-life decisions. You can find an illustrated abstract of my PhD thesis here. In May 2018, I completed my GP training with a specialization in palliative care.
As a calm and empathetic doctor, I value the unique opportunity to meet individuals from diverse backgrounds and guide them through minor and major health issues they encounter. I find great satisfaction in the versatility of the GP profession, which addresses a wide range of medical concerns from head to toe and from the beginning to the end of life.
I am available at Dr. Franke’s practice on Tuesdays and Fridays.
My name is Fleurique Franke, and I am a practice manager. After graduating as a doctor in 2003, I initially worked for several years in gynaecology/obstetrics and psychiatry.
In 2006, I began my GP training in Amsterdam, which I successfully completed by the end of 2007. In 2008, along with Bart Schuurman, I assumed responsibility for the general practice that was previously managed by the Bult family. In 2020, we both established our own practices, and currently, I work four days a week at GP Franke.
As sports and exercise play a significant role in my life, I wanted to enhance my knowledge in sports injuries, joint problems, and other musculoskeletal complaints. Therefore, in March 2019, I completed a two-year training program in musculoskeletal medicine. This field is a specialized branch within general medicine. In addition to being a dedicated GP with a wide range of interests in my profession, I take a holistic approach to patients and consider all related complaints. My specific areas of interest include gynaecology, psychology, minor surgery, and sports medicine.
I am available at the practice from Monday to Thursday. On Tuesdays, I conduct joint movement consultations in the afternoon, working alongside the physiotherapist. On my part-time day, Eva Bolt covers for me.
